Sukosta (formerly Sue Lee & Kosta Andrea Theatre Company) is an explorative arts organisation that creates innovative new performance work challenging perceived boundaries of art and life.

Sue Lee and Kosta Andrea met at the Lecoq Theatre School in Paris and decided after finishing the School to establish an artistic collaboration (94). The Company has since produced eight new devised shows, touring Europe and North America, as well as theatrical installations and numerous workshops and outreach projects in schools, hospitals, elderly people’s homes and other settings. It has gained an International reputation for personal and innovative work.

The Company developed a stronghold in North London (Haringey, Chocolate Factory, 95-2002) and is now based in the West Country, (Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire, UK). Currently it has an industrial unit in Holt and is working towards its long-term ambition of developing a research and production studio. Its rural base is the concentration point for the creation, a multicultural meeting and devising place for different International teams.

At the core of all the streams of the company’s work is the creative process and practitioner led exploration. This informs and gives flow to all educational / outreach activities. Through a delicate humour, subtle physicality and a strong visual language, the company explores the uncomfortable and awkward moments of life.

Kosta Andrea started his artistic career in medicine. He progressed to the study of life and all its complexities whilst in Paris working under the scrutiny of Monsieur Lecoq. He has two children and is living his life and dream as a Swiss man in rural Wiltshire.

Sue Lee started her career as ‘tortus’, travelling the streets of Europe. She has been pining for the hustle and bustle of Paris for years and now lives her dream as a house wife at Trowbridge Road. She is gestating her next one woman show called ‘rubbish.
